Agnes Constance Vassilo, age 95, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Brownsburg. She was born on April 8, 1925 in Sunshine, Pennsylvania to Dominic and Josephine (Bartley) Chambers.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Leo Vassilo, daughter Michele Hurst Murley, parents, brothers John E. Chambers and Anthony Chambers, and sister Angeline L. Hoon,
She was the loving mother of Michele (James) Murley, Mark (Annette) Vassilo, and Kevin (Elizabeth) Vassilo; proud grandmother of Shawn (Bonnie) Hurst, Matthew (Cindy) Hurst, Wesley Vassilo, Kyle Vassilo, Cole Vassilo, Andrew Vassilo, Amy Vassilo, and Alex Vassilo; and great grandmother of Bryon Hurst, Katie Hurst, Cooper Hurst, and Carter Hurst. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Agnes will be remembered as a woman of strong faith and love of family. Nothing made her happier than having the whole family together for a home-cooked meal. In addition to taking care of her family she also held various company positions over the years, including auditor and member of Alpha Xi Delta fraternity. Agnes was also a member of the St. Malachy Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a Christian graveside service and burial held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the St. Malachy North Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Malachy Catholic Church in memory of Agnes C. Vassilo.
