Brownsburg – Aleene (Apple) Hunsinger took her last breath on earth June 26, 2026. She filled her life with God’s Word and Jesus’ Commands. Moving to Brownsburg, Indiana in 1955 with her husband, Byron L. Hunsinger, Aleene served in many capacities at Brownsburg Christian Church (later Connection Pointe Christian Church). From church secretary, teen choir director (Youth Choirs), adult choir director, Missions’ committees, Women’s Council, in-home Bible study leader, cellist for the church orchestra, co-leader of the Hilltoppers (Seniors’ Ministry).
Aleene served her community by leading a Girl’s Brownie and Scout Troop. She was active in the Hendricks County Homemakers’ Club & League of Women’s Voters.
Her husband, Byron L. Hunsinger and son, Chris L. Hunsinger preceded her to Heaven.
Aleene’s family will continue her mission to share Jesus to their neighbors, community and world: Janene (Azar) Nader and Jana (Kenny) Thompson and Kathy (Chris) Hunsinger. Grandchildren Scott (Courtney) Thompson, Jamie (Mike Craven) Thompson, Anna (Brian) Bratta, Jordan (Danielle) Nader, Lydia (Andrew) Urdiales. Great Grandchildren: Drew Thompson, Briar Thompson, Bradley Thompson, Teagan Bratta, Tenley Bratta, Caden Nader & Wesley Nader, Paulina Urdiales.
Aleene is the last of her generation: Her parents Ola Chesterfield Apple & Leona Clark Apple, Avis Piper Morford Hawkins (sister), Thurman (Greta) Apple (brother & sister-in-law) Esther (Nelson) Newhouse (sister). Her in-laws: William (Bill) & Zella (Hungerford) Hunsinger, Alice Elaine (Edward) Gentry, Stanley L. & Janet (Towne) Hunsinger, June Kay (Joseph) Rankin, Neva (Dave) Sullivan.
Nieces & Nephews Include: Bradley & Mary Jayne Apple, Denise (Apple) Sparks, Sherrie Apple, DeLeia Jo Apple; Rick & Jill Newhouse, Tamra (Newhouse) & Jay Akinci, Pam (Newhouse) & Tony Butcher; Bill & Susan Gentry, Ron Gentry (deceased), Scott & Nina Rose Hunsinger, Randy & Yanfei Hunsinger, Kim (Hunsinger) Wilkins, Dru Hunsinger (deceased), Hollis (Hunsinger), Sara Hunsinger; Jady Rankin (deceased), Gary Rankin, Lydia Sue (Rankin) Robinson; Teresa (Sullivan) & Dale Glenn, Myra (Sullivan, deceased) & Kevin Doyle, Linda (Sullivan) & Mike (Deceased) Bush, Dave & Julie Sullivan.
A celebration of Life will be Monday July 20th, 2026 @ Connection Pointe Christian Church, visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be @ Center Christian Church, Rush County, afterwards.
