Obituary

Alfred (Al) Corder – 11/18/1933-7/3/2025

Al passed on the afternoon of July 3, 2025 surrounded by his family.  Al is survived by his son and his wife, Jeff and Nicole Corder, his grandson and granddaughter in-law Tyler and Alex Corder, his daughter Julie Pruitt, his brother Don Corder, his sister and her husband, Pat and Tom Dietzler.

Al was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Petraits) Corder, his son-in-law Dennis (Julie) Pruitt, his parents, Bill and Katie Corder, his sister Shirley Edwards, his brother Bill Corder and Al's longtime companion, Jeanice James.

Al served his country in the US Army and was a very proud veteran.  Al received his Engineering degree from Purdue University.  He retired from General Motors after a lengthy career as an engineer.

Al's passion outside of his family was golf.  On any given day, you could find Al on one of the many golf courses around Indiana, however his group of friends played weekly for years at Southgrove Golf Course.

Al was a proud man and if you were loved by Al, you were loved deeply.  Al enjoyed spending time with his family any chance that he could.  Al had a robust laugh and could tell jokes like no other.

Al will be truly missed by all that loved him.  Until we meet again, rest in peace knowing you were loved immensely.

Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm Wed. July 9 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with services there at 7 pm.  Military Honors will follow.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
