Audrey F. Higgins of Brownsburg, Indiana, went home to be with Jesus whom she loved and served with all her heart on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was 91years of age. She was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on April 28, 1931, to Millie Deloris Bates Grubb and Charles Cornelius "Neal" Grubb who passed on to be with the Lord when she was just six months old. Her mother then married William Yorke who raised her as his own. They have both preceded her in death. She left this world to go meet her sisters Patricia Yercheck, Norma Dorsey, and brothers Joe Yorke, Fred Yorke, and James Yorke.
Celebrating her life are her husband of 21 years, Donald G. Higgins, children Mike and Terri Messer, David and Janie Messer, Margaret Edwards, Donna Brown, Mike Higgins, Greg Higgins. Grandchildren: Donna Messer, Michael and Sarah Messer, Jessica Messer Duncan, Shalene Messer. Great-grandchildren: Audra Taylor, David Taylor, Adin Rozens, Nathaniel Duncan, Zander Messer, Levi Messer, Katherine Duncan, Samuel Duncan; and one great-great-grandchild: Adara Coomer. Brothers: Bill Yorke, John Yorke and Sisters: Anita Thacker, Karen Jordan.
Audrey had such a great love for all of her family and always put them first before herself. She was a godly woman of compassion, humility and kindness for others and has touched so many lives with her sweet and gentle spirit. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and served the Lord in many ministries. She always was a strong witness for her Lord Jesus Christ. All of her life Audrey was a faithful and true servant of the Lord. She was a mighty prayer warrior and a blessing to all who knew her.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Liberty Baptist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Calling hours for family and friends will begin at 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. The ceremony of her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. with a fellowship meal to follow. Her internment will be a private family graveside service held at the Dehart Cemetery in the beautiful foothills of Kentucky. Memorial donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, Hope Children's Home, or the Christian Law Association.
