Barbara J. Land

73, of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully at home on August 15th, 2026. Barbara was one of nine children; She was born in Indianapolis to her parents Bernard and Joan (Bain) Murphy on February 10th, 1953. During Barbara’s life, she held many different positions from Target Warehousing to FedEx custodial work. In recent years, she loved doing puzzles, shopping, and gambling with friends and family.

Barbara is survived by her beloved daughter Maria (Brent) Boyd; grandchildren Tyler Williams, Jordan Williams, Evan (Allie) Boyd, and Halle Boyd; great grandchildren Vincent Boyd, Teddy Boyd, Evie Boyd, and Eloise Boyd; siblings Roberta Pratt, Diane Evans, Susan Murphy, and Alan Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ronald Murphy, Daniel Murphy, William Murphy, and Mary Carpenter; great granddaughter Scarlett Boyd; former husband and friend James Land.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st from 10 am to 12 noon at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 12 noon. Barbara will then be laid to rest in Brownsburg Cemetery.
