Betty Jean Bacon
Beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma passed away on July 16th, 2026 at the age of 91. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Stan Bacon, 3 sisters, and 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her children Marcia Jean Herzog, Ronald Stanley (Darlene) Bacon, and Debra Marie Atkinson; brothers Edward Green, James Green, and Danny Green; cherished grandchildren Jennifer (Anthony) Young, Holly (Alan) Reed, Sarah (Nathan) Rentschler, Valerie (Walt) Eveland; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.
Betty and her husband Stan were married for over 60 years and resided in Illinois, Oklahoma, Washington, Indiana, and Kentucky. They enjoyed many travels after raising their children. Betty and Stan loved having a large extended family and spending time with each of them. They have also left many friends to cherish their memory.
Betty was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church for many years, and was long active with the American Legion Auxiliary Post 331. She was known by many as a talented gardener, seamstress, knitter, cake decorator, and cook.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18th from 10 am to 12 noon at Calvary United Methodist Church, 575 W Northfield Drive, Brownsburg, IN 46112. Funeral services will follow at the same location at 12 noon. Betty will then be laid to rest next to her husband in Brownsburg Cemetery.
