Obituary

Betty J. Catt

82, of Brownsburg, passed away on June 24th, 2026. Betty was born in Indianapolis to her parents Lloyd and Fay Hollingsworth on August 12th, 1943. After graduating from high school, she went on to continue her education at Indiana University. Betty earned her Bachelor’s degree and became a respected legal secretary for the offices of Mark Emory and Forrest Bowman. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, as well as a faithful volunteer and “lioness” of the Lions Club. Betty was the President of the Robey Elementary PTA, and volunteered lots of her time tutoring and mentoring for the Wayne Township school system. Her passion for helping others led her down many different paths. Betty was a proud Honor Flight Volunteer and could often be found helping with anything she could at the Methodist church. Betty also loved to go bowling and to travel with friends and family. Anyone who knew and loved her also knew Betty’s favorite, most overused word: “fun”.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Doug Catt. Betty is survived by her beloved husband Jimmie Catt; son Jeff Catt; sister Linda Scidmore; nieces Denise Anderson and Dawn Anderson; grandchildren Codey Catt, Kaleigh Catt, and Kameron Catt; great granddaughter Grace Catt.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29th from 10 am to 12 noon at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 12 noon. Betty will then be laid to rest in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
