Betty G. Lukenbill

Wednesday, April 29, 2020 heaven received Betty G. Lukenbill as she peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus. Betty was born October 20, 1931 in Tuscola, Illinois to James Z. and Grace (Smith) Henderson. She graduated from Greencastle (IN) High School in 1950. On December 12, 1953 she married the love of her life, Marion L. Lukenbill. For 66 years they lived a blessed and adventurous life. She worked various jobs from "soda jerk" to telephone operator, Nursing Home aide to Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield as well as others, but her favorite job was post-retirement. She joined her husband as a long-haul truck driver for Covenant Trucking, where over the course of 10 years, she logged over 1 million safe-driving miles as they crisscrossed the 48 states. She had a passion for history and reading that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. A member of Connection Pointe Christian Church for 60 years, she was privileged to have served in many areas.

Betty is survived by her husband, Marion, their four children: Cheri (Brent) Grout of Brownsburg, IN; Greg (Mary) Lukenbill of Greenwood, IN; Chelle Atkins of Brownsburg, IN; and Heather (Rachel) Blank-Lukenbill of Nashville, TN. They have 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorial visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Friday August 21 at Connection Pointe Christian Church, Brownsburg, with memorial services at 3 p.m.
