Betty L. Neal
September 5, 1927 - February 10, 2020. Mrs. Betty L. Neal, 92, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 in her home at Brownsburg Meadows Assisted Living Center. She was born September 5, 1927, in Thorntown, Indiana, the daughter of the late Murrell and Evelyn (Hutchinson) Oyler. On September 23, 1949, she was married to Robert E. Neal in Thorntown. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2005. Once her children were raised she worked at various secretarial jobs in the area including: Yeager Petroleum from 1968 to 1971, Atlantic Richfield from 1971 to 1976, and Public Service of Indiana (Duke Energy) from 1976 until retiring in 1990. She was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg. Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed various crafts as well as being social in her community and helping others. Survivors include five children: MaryAnn (Jim) Bumgarner of Greenville, SC; Janet Patton of Carmel, IN; Barbara (Mark) Turner of Port Orchard, WA; Nancy (Fred) Isaacs of Almaty, Kazakhstan; Steven (Clara) Neal of Gilbert, AZ along with 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by one sister Ruth Lewis. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon on Friday, February 14 at Connection Pointe Christian Church, 1800 N. Green St., Brownsburg, Indiana (please enter door 10) with visitation from 10am to 12 noon. Interment will follow services at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana. Memorials in Betty's memory may be directed to the Robert E. Neal School of Music Scholarship fund at Indiana University or the Connection Pointe Christian Church. The family wishes to thank Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care.
