Obituary

Beverly Ann Fertig, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana spread her wings to heaven unexpectedly to meet our Lord and Savior on Tuesday May 10, 2022. She was born in Illinois on October 9 th , 1936. Bev's unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father is the foundation upon which she built her life.

On May 23 rd , 1969, she married the love of her life, Ronald E. Fertig. The couple spent over 53 years together in happiness serving the Lord.

Bev is survived by her beloved husband Ron, 3 stepdaughters, Tonya Brown, Michelle Shaw and Rhonda Humphress, 2 brothers, Dwayne Peak of Ohio and Gary Peak of Illinois, several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends who will deeply miss her independent, caring, and resourceful living. She is preceded in death by one brother and 2 sisters.

She proudly served our country for 2 years in the United States Army with lifelong friend who later became her pastor, Blanche Fiscus who survives.

Ron and Bev are members of Hope Baptist Church and recently attended Lakeview Christian Church where they faithfully served the Lord. Beverly was not only a very talented pianist, but also harmonized with Ron through song, where they lead people to Jesus through their joyful worship. They performed as traveling Southern Gospel quartet singers for several years and made many national appearances as well as locally at Northwest Assembly of God, where she played beautiful piano melodies at the request of the pastor, friend, Blanche Fiscus.  She used her gift of piano and singing to bring joy and comfort to countless souls.

Bev loved to support those around her. She would often remember important and the not so important events and ask about them to show her love and caring nature. She was very genuine and was willing to lend a helping hand any time she was able to do so.  Bev also loved angels and everything about them. She had a fond appreciation of flowers and outdoor spinners and lights. She loved the colors purple, blue and pink. She was always smiling and spreading light and joy to those around her. She made every attempt to model a servant's life.  While her time on this Earth is finished, we rejoice in the fact she is singing and playing the piano at the feet of Jesus and loving every minute of it.

Family and friends may celebrate her life with us from noon to 2pm at Matthews Mortuary, 690 E. 56 th St, Brownsburg, IN, 46112 on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, with a memorial service at 2pm.
