Beverly Helm

Beverly (Bell) Helm, age 85, of Brownsburg passed away on October 12, 2024. Beverly was born on April 14, 1939 in Pennville, Indiana to Grace and William Bell, both of whom preceded her in death.  She was married to Franklin Helm from 1957 until he preceded her in death in 1996. Beverly held many jobs throughout her life, including phone operator at Indiana Bell, teaching assistant at Brownsburg Schools, human resources clerk for the federal government, and Vice-President of Human Resources at McCaffery & McCall Advertising Agency. But to her the most important jobs she had were mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was the focus of her life and she was always available for anything her children or grandchildren needed. She was famous for making everyday things into an adventure. Beverly had many friends of all ages and enjoyed spending time with them dining out, going on trips, and shopping. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and local casinos with her fiancé, Barry Payne. Barry preceded Beverly in death in 2016. Beverly was an excellent seamstress, an avid reader, and she loved music, especially Neil Diamond.

Beverly was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Lenox, her brother William Bell Jr., her brother in law Willard Lenox, and her sister in law Patricia Bell.

Survivors include her children, Cathy (Paul) Wessel of Franklin and Daniel Helm of Brownsburg; grandchildren Chelsea (Scott) Klein, Eric (Abby) Wessel, Jimmy (Rachael) Kronick, and Steve (Chitra) Helm along with her beloved great-grandchildren Garrett and Cooper Klein and Taylor Kronick. Beverly also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends to cherish her memory.

Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday October 17th, 2024 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg.  Funeral services will be at 10am Friday October 18th, 2024 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, Indiana.  Interment will follow service at Brownsburg Cemetery. Beverly requested that memorial contributions be made to the Brownsburg Public Library or the donor's favorite animal charity.
