Obituary

Bradley George Glass

84, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2020.  He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on March 21, 1936 to George and Martha Glass, and raised surrounded by a large, loving extended family in the New Castle area.   Brad graduated from New Castle High School in 1954.  When he enrolled at Ohio Wesleyan University, he was the first person in his family to attend college.  He was in Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and the Air Force ROTC.  After college graduation in 1958 he joined the United States Air Force where he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant. While serving his country, he attended graduate classes at MIT and achieved his life-long dream of working in the cock pits of multiple military airplanes. Upon leaving the service, he and his young family moved to Ohio, where he attended and received his Master's Degree at Xavier University.   He went on to have a very successful career in private banking and at the Federal Reserve.  He became a realtor in his later years and also helped to design specialty wheelchairs for those in need.

Brad always enjoyed working with his hands, and lovingly designed a go-cart for his children, a sturdy storage box to hold the tack for their pony, and a heated dog house for the family pet.  He constructed a motor boat from scratch in his garage and created beautiful model airplanes over the years. Through his example, he taught all of his children the value of hard work and commitment to a project, no matter how large or small.  He loved to fix cars, watch motor sports, and even raced his own Triumph race car at various speedways in the Midwest.  He was an avid reader all his life, and especially loved biographies of famous Americans as well as books on World War II and aviation history.  Brad was a loving husband to his wife, Linda, and was valiantly devoted to her care and well-being throughout her battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  His care for her was a true example of unconditional love.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, George Glass and Martha Annett, his brother Glen Glass and his wife Linda Glass.  Survivors include his children Juliene Stone, Suzanne (Jerry) Trahan, Kristin (Steve) Tebo, Jeffery (Kelli) Vaught, Mark (Heather) Vaught, and Vicki (Steve) Myers; sister Janet (Lawrence) Cassidy; and ten grandchildren.  A private memorial will be held with family, and burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery in Indiana.
