Brenda D. Hicks
Brenda Jean Hicks (71), a beloved mother, Nana, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, while surrounded by her loving children. Born to Charles and Nina Parrish Dale in Lebanon, Indiana, Brenda spent much of her life living in Indiana, as well as Florida. She graduated from Granville Wells High School in 1970 and proudly worked as a lab technician at the White Castle and Tropicana plants during her career.

Throughout her life, Brenda cherished her family and friends. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her precious granddaughters and chatting often with her close friends who she revered as family. In addition to being a talented artist and avid reader, Brenda loved horses. She owned and raised them with her children in the 80s and 90s and often shared stories and memories of the horses she'd loved through the years. Brenda was fascinated by British culture and history and loved 50s and 60s music–particularly the Beatles. She was best known for her sweet and loving nature and being kind to everyone she encountered

Brenda is survived by her children Laura (Derek) Langston and Jason (Selena) Hicks; sisters Shirley Ann (Wayne) Flynn and Sandra Sue Dale; brother Steven Dale; and grandchildren Presley Hicks, Piper Hicks, and Sawyer Langston.

Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate Brenda's life during her visitation from 3 to 5 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 5 pm.
