Carl William Bicknell Sr., age 88, Brownsburg, passed away on January 18, 2018 at Countryside Meadows in Avon, IN. He had suffered from Alzheimer's disease for many years. Carl was born January 3, 1930 in Bicknell, IN to Reed J. and Annie Sipes Bicknell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister. Carl was a devoted husband to Donna Faye Shelton Bicknell who also preceded him in death in December 2009. They resided in both Indianapolis and Brownsburg, IN. They also spent many years living in their winter home in Punta Gorda, FL. Carl is survived by a son, Carl William Bicknell Jr. (Carol) of Brownsburg, IN and a daughter Catherine Suzann White (Lewis) of Avon, IN, two grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Carl graduated from Bicknell High School and attended Butler University in Indianapolis. He retired from General Motors' Allison Division in Speedway, IN. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. Carl's hobbies were sailing, fishing, wood carving, gardening and just being outdoors. Carl has been cremated per his wishes. Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Brownsburg, IN on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 AM with a lunch to be held at the church following the service.
