Carol Ann Humbracht, a beloved mother, retired teacher and resident of Brownsburg, IN, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at the age of 77.
Carol is survived by her 3 children; Tamra (Mark) Kelly, Darryl (Missy) Humbracht, and Jason (Natasha) Humbracht; her 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and her 2 brothers; Douglas (Nola) Walsh and David (Jan) Walsh.
Carol taught math in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana during her over 40-year teaching career. She touched hundreds of young lives through her unique techniques and passion for education.
Carol graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in mathematics and later earned a master's degree in mathematics from Central Michigan University.
In her earlier years Carol enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, spending time by the pool, traveling, and being a local disc jockey in Ionia for school dances and weddings. Most recently her favorite things included elaborate Color-by-Number drawings she would mail weekly to her children and most importantly lovingly caring for her adorable Shih-Tzu, Riley, now 14 years old. The neighborhood children would run over to see Carol during her daily walks with Riley to pet him and get a kiss on the cheek. This was the highlight of her days.
A celebration of life service will be scheduled in July 2022.
