Catherine Feigen Goodin
Better known as "Kate", passed away Oct. 2, 2018 in Brownsburg, IN. Kate was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Indianapolis, IN. Her parents were Joseph L. and Effie Bell Feigen. She attended St. Francis de Sales grade school and Tech High School. In 1940, she married her brother's best friend, Joe Goodin. Their wedding was at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother to 9 children. They raised their older children in the Brightwood neighborhood before moving in 1962 to the family farm in Pittsboro, IN. Her happiest days were spent on the farm. She was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church for the past 56 years. Kate and her husband enjoyed many winters in St. Petersburg, FL. She enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, camping, bingo, and never missed a chance to play cards. She was a card shark. She is survived by her 7 children Mike (Pam), Katy Lou, Rosie, Nancy Angel, Mary Hockaday (Dan), Paul, Tom (Eileen); daughter-in-law Lisa; 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Effie Feigen, her husband Joseph (Bud) Goodin, two sons David and Mark, two grandsons Joseph Goodin and Jacob Henson, daughter-in-law Melinda (Paul), and great great grandson Jaylen Goodin. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Brownsburg Health Care for the compassionate care they gave our mother. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Thursday Oct. 4 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Friday Oct. 5 at St. Malachy Catholic Church with visitation from 9:30am.
