Charles "Chuck" C. Hammer
78, Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024 at Brownsburg Meadows from cancer.  Chuck was born on December 18, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Charles C. Sr. and Ruth Hammer. He was preceded in death by his wife Carla Cook Hammer and brother-in-law Bill Kirtley.  Chuck graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1964 and was an US Navy veteran serving from 1964 to 1968.  Chuck worked for Indiana Bell, Anheuser-Busch, Winn Dixie, Weyerhauser and retired from YRC in 2010.  He will be greatly missed sitting on Mary's porch drinking coffee with friends.  Chuck was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church.  Lately, he enjoyed Charles Stanley.  Survivors include his sister Mary Kirtley; nieces Julie Kirtley, Beverly Plott; ex-wife Rita Hammer Davis; great nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am Fri. June 28 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 11 am.  Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church, 8930 N. SR 267, Brownsburg, IN  46112.
