Charles R. Hizer Jr.

82, Brownsburg, passed away on August 8, 2023.  He was a member of the UAW Local 933 and worked for Allison Transmission for over 50 years, retiring in 2015.  Charles was an active member of Lakeview Church on Indy's west side.  He served our country in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He was selfless, caring, hardworking man with a boisterous laugh and a firm belief in his Savior.  By those who knew him best, he will be remembered as a man of God, in love with Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen (Kaley) Hizer; brothers Virgil Hizer and Kenneth Hizer.  Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Judy Hizer; sons Michael (Amber) Hizer, Matthew (Savanna) Hizer; sister Sherri (Jerry) Quinn; brother John Hizer; grandchildren Gabriel, Cosmo, Olivia, and Avalon.  Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Tues. Aug. 15 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1 pm.  Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lakeview Church at https://lakeviewchurch.org
