Charles Robert
Mann
May 2, 1943 – July 17, 2022
Charles Robert Mann
79, of Brownsburg, went to his heavenly home on July 17, 2022. Charlie was the beloved husband of Jerrie for 50 years. Charlie served 4 years in the Marines from 1961-1965 being honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. During his time of service, he was involved in the Bay of Pigs. Also, he received the Sharpshooter Rifle badge and Good Conduct Medals. Charles was honorably discharged from his last assignment performing as part of the Honor Guard at Annapolis, Maryland. He worked at McLean Trucking from 1971 to its closing in 1986. In 1986, Charles started working for Reeves Construction and later became the Owner/Operator of Reeves Excavating. Charlie was a member of the American Legion for 54 years and a member of the Teamsters. He enjoyed horse racing, doing the daily crossword, watching old westerns, playing computer solitaire, Euchre with family and those great vacations in Pompano Beach, Florida. His eyes would light up when the nieces and nephews would come over and spend time. Often the topic of discussion would be history events. Charlie was the love of my life and I will deeply miss him. He was often known by several names such as Uncle Charlie, Charlie Bob and Bob. You just don't know how much he loved each of you. Charles was born in Bedford, IN to Howard R. and Geneva Mann on May 2, 1943. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Howard Mann. Survivors include his wife Jerri Mann of 50 years; sister-in-law Connie Mann; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gordon Reeves II and Natalie Reeves; nieces Jennifer (Roy) Tabor, Alex & Elizabeth, Teresa (David) Donehue, Rachel, Hannah, Ryan, Shannon (Bubba) Downs, Chase, Adam, Gordon, Sarah (Josh) Gregory, Jade, Noah, Zoey, Zachary; nephew Joshua Reeves, Jaxson, Ellie and family. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm Sat. July 23 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 12 pm. Entombment will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens.
