Charles Robert Thayer

98, of Camby, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. Charles was born in Indianapolis on Valentine's Day of 1927 to his parents Charles and Emma Ann Thayer. He was a proud WWII veteran who served his country in the U.S. Navy for multiple years. Following his military experience, Charles moved on to work as a self-employed broker of mineral fillers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Emma, as well as his first wife Doris Thayer in 1996. Charles is survived by his two children Michael (Margo) Thayer and Pamela Thayer; cherished grandchildren Kristin Floyd, Michael Douglas Thayer, and Chad Sokol; great-grandchildren Alexandra Thayer and Arianna Floyd; brother Richard Thayer. He is also survived by his wife Betty Thayer; step-children Danielle Terry and Dawn (Mark) Bradshaw; step-grandchildren Christopher (Dalanie) M., Heather M., Loxlie T., Margo C., Stephen B., Christine F.; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

A public visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, February 3rd at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. Charles will then be laid to rest with military honors in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
