Chuck Thompson passed away at home on June 1, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1960, to Lloyd and Dorothy (Burford) Thompson of Blandinsville, Illinois.

He grew up in Blandinsville and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1978. After graduation, he relocated to the Atlanta, Georgia, area and worked for Lewellen Construction until his retirement.

Chuck is survived by his daughter, Shayna; grandson, Greyson; and sisters Beth (Kerry) Gebhardt, Susan (Jim) Walton, and Donna (Neal) Ford. He was preceded by his parents; sister, Barbara; brother, Lloyd (JR); and brother-in-law, Jim.

Chuck was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching any sport he could find on TV. Even though he enjoyed playing golf, it wasn't a good idea to let him drive the cart.

Chuck never met a stranger but, if you were a friend, you held a special place in his heart. He will be remembered and missed by many.

There will be no funeral services. To celebrate Chuck's life, share a drink with friends while enjoying the outdoors as that would have meant so much to him.
