Charlotte E. Mayes
age 98, Brownsburg, passed away Sept. 17, 2011. She had been a secretary at Public Service Plainfield for 23 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Brownsburg Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by husband Lester Mayes. Survivors include children John (Kathy) Mayes and Becky (Dick) Hartley; 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Mon. Sept. 19 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Graveside services will be 11am (EST) Tues. Sept. 20 at the Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
