Christia Ann Burgan Obituary

With a spirit as vibrant as her preferred names-Chris, Crickey, Chrissy- Christia Ann Burgan aged 60, was called home to her eternal rest on May 24,2024. She was born in Indianapolis on March 31, 1964.

She was a graduate of Speedway High School and a dedicated Senior Business Process Analyst at UHC.

She wove a tapestry of love, laughter, generosity, and selflessness throughout her life. Her family, especially her nieces and nephews held the fabric of her life together. Chris' charitable heart found joy in simple pleasures like spending time with family, crocheting, reading, or unraveling the mysteries in her favorite real-life crime stores on television.

She is lovingly remembered by family: her mother Joyce Wirey Sams, stepfather Gil Sams, father Bill Burgan, stepmother Jane Burgan, sisters Cyndie Burgan, Bonnie Brunton, Nora Day, Beth Walker, brothers Ray Burgan, Bill Barton, Grant Sams and her many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Chris' life, filled with the warmth of her memory, will be from 10 am to 12 pm Monday, June 3 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg with funeral services there at 12 pm.  Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, June 4 in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or the Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org

Chris was a very giving soul, always putting other before herself, may her memory inspire continued acts of kindness in the lives she has touched. Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
