Cordelia Fay (Ratliff) Collings
Age 80, passed away on Sat. Dec. 1, 2012. Cordelia was born and raised in Lizton, IN to Clarence and May (Truax) Ratliff. She was a graduate of Speedway High School and attended Indiana University, and received her degree in Education from the University of Houston. She married John William Collings Aug. 28, 1957 in Lizton, IN. They moved to Houston, TX where they raised their son Robert L. Collings and daughter Corinne F. Collings. Cordelia was a teacher in all grades in both Indiana and Texas. She and her husband also owned Northwest Global Travel Agency in Houston, TX. Cordelia was quite artistic. She loved design. This showed in her home, clothing, baking, but most of all in her paintings. She loved travelling the world. She was always ready for a cruise. Cordelia was preceded in death by her Mother Mae Truax Ratliff, Father Clarence Levi Ratliff, brothers Lee Ratliff and Donald Ratliff, and her daughter Corinne Collings. Survivors include son Robert (Cynthia) Collings of Coldwater, MI sisters Roberta (Jim) Graham of Brownsburg, IN and Clara (Wes) Zerbe of Bloomfield, CO, and a brother Charles Ratliff of Brownsburg, IN. A service celebrating the life of Cordelia Fay Collings will be held Sat. Dec. 8, 2012 at 11 am in Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, IN. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Committal of ashes will take place at Lizton K of P Cemetery in Lizton, IN.
