Hession
December 16, 1925 – January 1, 2019
Daniel Bernard Hession
93 of Brownsburg died peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Brownsburg Health Care Center where he resided. Bernard was born on December 16, 1925 was one of eleven children of Martin and Ellen Hession. Growing up and working hard on the farm from an early age, and surviving tuberculosis of the spine when he was in grade school, are just a couple of formational feats that made Bernard tougher than nails but the kindest-hearted farmer anyone would ever meet. He married Anna Catherine "Jane" Hession on June 20, 1953 where together they raised their eight children on their farm, instilling their values of Faith, Family and Farming. Bernard taught his children to be hard workers and strong Catholics by living those values every day.
Bernard is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and all of his siblings and their spouses: Martin (Betty) Hession, John Hession, Chuck (Mary) Hession, Leo (Jackie) Hession, Bet (John) Ford, Rose (Bill) Hurrle, Ann (Basil) Noblet, Mag (Murray) Abbott, Mary Hession and Martha Hession. Bernard is survived by his eight children: Michael (Kathy) Bray, Bernadette (Jesse) Davidson, Kathleen (Harry) Broderick, Anthony (Tammy) Hession, Timothy (Molly) Hession, Matthew (Debbie) Hession, Andrew (Traci) Hession, and Marijane (Robert) Armbruster. Known by his grandchildren as "Papaw", he is survived by twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Bernard was an avid Euchre playing, never declining an offer for a quick game, wherever that may have been. Bernard also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Colts and Pacers.
