Obituary

Daniel E. Walker, aged 65, of Brownsburg, IN, passed away on October 27, 2026 at Life’s Journey Hospice House from brain cancer.

Dan was born on January 30, 1961, in Maryville, MO, to Willis and Beverly (Wilkinson) Walker. He earned his undergraduate degree at Northwest Missouri State University, and went on to receive his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University in 1988. After six years of residency and practice with the Army, Dan moved to Creston, Iowa, where he faithfully served as a family practice doctor for 30 years.

On June 2, 1984, he married Susan Kentch in Kansas City, MO. Together, they built a family rooted in a love for God, their family, and others. They shared 42 years of marriage together.

Dr. Walker was well-known for the kind and genuine care he provided to all his patients. At home he was committed to his wife and three daughters. Wherever he lived, Dan served in his church however he could: teaching Sunday school to all ages, serving as a deacon, leading songs, and even mowing church property. He enjoyed serving with The Gideons International. He also served on the board of Faith Baptist Bible College of Ankeny, Iowa, as well as the board of Iowa Regular Baptist Camp. His passion was to follow Jesus, his Savior, and show Jesus’ love to others.

Upon retirement, Dan and Susan moved to Indiana to be close to their grandchildren. He served at church, volunteered at his grandkids’ school, and attended as many of their sporting events as he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Beverly Walker. Dan is survived by his wife, Susan Walker; children, Ann (Daniel) Barnett, Ellen (Robert) Ellis, and Allison (Kenny) Froment; eight grandchildren (Jason, Clinton, Elijah, Amelia, Coen, Brooks, Macie, and one on the way); siblings, Bill (Stephanie) Walker, Ben (Brenda) Walker, and Peggy (Jeff) Ostrander; as well as many other extended family members.

Visitation and funeral will be Saturday, October 31st at Gospel Grace Baptist Church of Lebanon, IN. Visitation will be from 10AM-12PM with funeral service at 12:00 followed by

burial at K & P Cemetery of Lizton. A memorial service for Dan will also take place on

November 6th at First Baptist Church in Creston, IA at 4PM.
