Obituary

Danny Charles Miller, 78, of Avon, Indiana passed away on June 11, 2025.  He is the son of Herbert & Stella Miller of New Castle / Straughn-New Lisbon Communities of Indiana.  After high school, Danny proudly served his country in the US Navy as a nuclear submariner and electrician aboard the USS Finback, USS Abraham Lincoln and USS San Marcos.  After the Navy, he continued his education at Ball State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree.   Later in life worked as an electrician for General Motors, Allison Transmission, Indianapolis, IN.

Danny enjoyed traveling with his wife, Irene, of 40 years, visiting national monuments, national parks, events and cities across the United States. He was a loving father to son, Matthew, and a wonderful Grandfather to his loving Granddaughter, Lilah, who he absolutely adored.  He enjoyed working on various projects that showcased his affinity and knowledge of the arts, design, math and computer science.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Stella (Cummins) Miller of New Castle, Indiana and nephew, Kent Miller of Brownsburg, Indiana.  Survivors include his loving wife, Irene (Nichols) Miller, son Matthew Miller, Granddaughter, Lilah Kathleen, brothers David (Ann) Miller, Jerald (JD) wife (Jodi), sister Kathy (Mike) Pecoraro, nephews Brooke Miller & Blake Miller and many more nieces, nephews & extended family members.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16th at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana. Cemetery floral arrangements only delivered by 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 16th to Matthews Mortuary, 690 E.56th Street, Brownsburg, Indiana 46112 or Donations payable to www.debra.org/giving in support of his granddaughter, Lilah Kathleen Miller, who was born with RDEB, a rare genetic skin disease.
