David Onan Finchum Sr., 79, a native of Brownsburg, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. David retired from Ford Motor Co. of Indianapolis and worked as a Real Estate Broker, Agent and Developer. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elena Mae (White) Finchum; his three children, David Finchum, Jr., Carmelita Davis and Christopher Finchum; his nine siblings, John Swisher, Wendell Swisher, Tommy Swisher, Billy Swisher, Carolyn Sue Strawmeyer, Phyllis Teets, Bonnie Boggle, Marilyn Stephens and Alena Walters; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Finchum, Matthew Finchum, Brent Finchum, Josh Davis and Caleb Davis; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence Finchum. Visitation will be 4-8pm Tues., April 12 in Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Funeral services will be 11am Wed., April 13 at Pittsboro Baptist Church. Burial will be at Bethesda Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org/indiana/ in David's memory.
