David W. Laudig
78, Brownsburg, passed away on February 27, 2022. Mr. Laudig was born in Lebanon, IN on October 30, 1943 to Glen T. and Izella (Hendrickson) Laudig. He married Marilyn Spray on August 20, 1971, and adopted her son Danny Lee. Danny preceded him in death in 2012, Marilyn in 2013, followed by his brother Charley in 2015. After graduating from Indiana's Perry Central High in 1962, Dave farmed in Boone and Hendricks counties, and worked in heating and cooling until he was drafted at age 21. Mr. Laudig served in Germany as an MP for approximately one and a half years, before returning to work at Comfort Air. Mr. Laudig attended one evening refrigeration class per week at IUPUI for 5 years, earning recognition as a journeyman refrigeration pipefitter/mechanic. He retired in 2004. Dave became a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Fitters Union Local #440, on April 7, 1967. Some notable places which Mr. Laudig plied his trade includes (but is not limited to): Installing air conditioners in the theatre on Emerson, and the Von Lee Theatre in Bloomington, IN. He also installed the refrigeration units in several grocery stores including the Marsh store in Speedway, some of the gas pipes in Park 100 warehouses, as well as the chillers and air handlers in the 11-story building just west of where Market Square used to be. After retirement, Mr. Laudig enjoyed cutting trees into firewood, gardening, petting his pet cats, and visiting with his neighbors. Dave requested no services or calling. Dave will be buried alongside his wife, son, and brother in Bridgeport Cemetery.
