Dawn E.
Hickman
November 5, 1965 – January 9, 2026
Dawn E. Hickman
Dawn Elizabeth Gibboney Hickman age 60, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 9, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.
Dawn joyfully surrendered her life to Jesus as a young woman, and His love became the steady theme of her life. She lived with a tender heart, always choosing compassion, kindness, and service to others.
On November 25, 2000, Dawn married the love of her life, Ernie Hickman, and together they built a home filled with faith, laughter, and love. Dawn spent most of her adult life caring for the children God placed in her path — her bonus children, her nieces and nephews, and later her precious grandchildren. She poured out patience, gentleness, and joy in a way that made every child feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.
Dawn is survived by her dear husband of 25 years, Ernie, her bonus children Ryan (Laura) Hickman, Tiffany Hickman, and Abby (Jake) Carey, and her cherished grandchildren Aspen, Merrick, Matthew, Kynley, and Oakley. She is also survived by her sisters Jaclyn (Jeremy) Nohren and Kristi Throneburg Baiers, her brother-in-law Jonathan Cross, and her sister-in-law Veda Tobias. Among her treasured nieces and nephews are Kayla (Jonathan) Ozolins, Jacey (Preston) Macy, Wyatt, Josalynn Nohren, Kristopher, Jacob and Nickolas Baiers, along with many other beloved nieces and nephews who brought joy and pride to her life. She is further survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins and multitudes of friends who loved her deeply.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents Karla Warren Throneburg, Rick & Marcia (Hiner) Gibboney, her grandparents Regina Burns Parson, William A. and Ruth Gibboney, James and Ruby Hiner and Earl Warren, her sister Colleen Cross, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who welcomed her into eternity.
Dawn's life was marked by grace, forgiveness, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through every life she touched. Though we grieve, we do so with hope — knowing that Dawn is whole, healed, and rejoicing in the presence of Jesus.
"Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
