Obituary

Debbie Kay (Richardson) Robidoux
October 24, 1954 - June 28, 2024

Debbie Kay (Richardson) Robidoux passed away on the morning of June 28, 2024, in Brownsburg, Ind.  The second of 12 children, both parents, Donald Ramon and Clara Jane (Gibbs) Richardson of Brownsburg, preceded her in death, along with her brother Jeffrey John Richardson; her sister, Mary Beth Halcomb; niece, Candy (Cooley) Knoy (who passed two days prior to Debbie's passing); nephew, Andrew Richardson; and great-nephew Seth Cooley.

Most recently, she was co-owner of Busy Bee Cleaning in Brownsburg; and for more than 20 years, she managed Mr. Dunderbak's German Restaurant in Daytona Beach, Fla.

With a heart of pure and boundless affection for family and friends, she generously provided their young ones with clothing, candy and toys. She was indeed a giver and a model of humility.

In her youth, Debbie attended St. Malachy School and then Brownsburg High School. After graduating, she had a wandering heart and bravely took off with friends for parts unknown. She spent time at the Grand Canyon. Her brother, Tommy, reports that she also spent time in Colorado. Eventually, she settled down for the beach life in Daytona Beach, Fla., which quickly became a popular vacation destination for her large family and many friends.

Along the way she married Larry Robidoux and they had two sons, Vince and Dylan Robidoux. Eventually, Debbie, Vince and Dylan, all re-settled in Brownsburg where Debbie became a "G-ma" to Dylan's son, Deakon.

After her diagnosis and in her final week, she was provided wonderful comfort and peace in the home of Ambyr and Shane Duncan-where she had lived for many years. Ambyr along with Debbie's sons, Vince and Dylan, and Dylan's wife, Shannon, provided an abundance of care and unparalleled dedication.

Debbie is survived by her son, Vincent Ramon Robidoux; son, Dylan Jacob Robidoux; daughter-in-law, Shannon (Wagoner) Robidoux and grandson, Deakon Robidoux.

She is also survived by her siblings: Cathy (Charles) Cooley; James Thomas (Deborah) Richardson; Gregory (Kristi) Richardson; Cheryl Smith; Roch (Rebecca) Richardson; Timothy Richardson; Jeffery (Suellen) Richardson; Matthew (Patricia) Richardson; Anthony (Stacie) Richardson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and even a few great-nieces and nephews.

Finally, Debbie is survived by her dog named "Dogee" (D.O.G.). She was a type of "dog whisperer." Her love for animals and dogs ran deep (just like her pockets which were often filled with treats). She would take her dog with her while she was dog-sitting for friends and family; she always said "yes" to dog-sitting (and sometimes even chicken-sitting) requests with no questions asked!

Celebration of Life services will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Fri. July 19 at the Brownsburg American Legion Post 331.  A GoFundMe page https://gofundme/6fe6f19b has been started to help with final expenses.
