Dennis James Childers
57 years, born Oct. 23, 1963, Indianapolis, formerly of Brownsburg, passed away Dec. 28, 2020. He was a maintenance and HVAC technician for IU Health Indianapolis campus. He was a graduate of Brownsburg High School and graduated with an associate degree from ITT as an HVAC technician. Dennis was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and a practicing amateur arborist. He had attended Bethesda Baptist Church (now Parkside Church) in Brownsburg. Denny was much loved by family, friends and co-workers. He was a "gentle giant". He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Shirley Childers. Survivors include Gloria J. Childers; sisters Pamela (Mike) Jones, Judy (Gerald) Miller and Shelia (Robin) Bailey; brothers Donnie (Melanie) Childers, Michael (Kathy) Childers and Fred (Alice) Childers; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10am to 12 noon Sat. Jan. 2 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Brownsburg Cemetery. In compliance with current regulations and restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and observe social distancing.
