Derek N. Ash

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Derek Nikolaus Ash, who left us on August 1, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on April 4, 1980, in Davenport, Iowa, Derek was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ashley, and a proud, loving father to his sons, Nikolai and Theo.

He is also survived by his parents, his grandmother, his two brothers, a sister-in-law and several cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.

A private memorial service will be held for close family and friends to honor his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Derek's memory to the University of Iowa I-Club or to a local animal shelter or sanctuary of your choice.
