Diana C. Paul
Diana Cheryl Paul passed away on Tuesday, July 28, after a courageous battle with breast cancer at home surrounded by those who loved her best.
Diana was born on July 4, 1980, to Dan and Denise Parker of Elkhart, Indiana. She was a gymnast and competitive cheerleader. She graduated from Concord High School in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1998. Diana attended Indiana University and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2004. In 2006, Diana married the love of her life, Josh Paul. In 2008, they welcomed their daughter Ellie Jo, who was followed in 2010 by their son Parker. In 2015, she was baptized and joined Kingsway Christian Church in Avon, Indiana.
She began her personal mission to make the world a better place as a pediatric oncology nurse at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital shortly after graduating from IU. In addition, she served as an elementary school volunteer and Sunday School teacher. In 2017, Diana served on a medical mission trip to Saltillo, Mexico. Immediately after her return, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
Throughout her battle, she demonstrated bravery, compassion for others, faithfulness and her single-minded determination to choose joy. She firmly believed that her life served a higher purpose. This – combined with her quiet strength and amazing smile – made her an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, husband and children, she is survived by her sisters Dawn (Jason) Swindle and Danielle (Matt Hinton) Parker; her brother Darrick (Jessica) Parker; her grandfather Bruce Galbreath; her in-laws Jackie Paul and Jerry (Joan) Paul; her sister-in-law Jessi (Ryan) Williams; her nephew Danny; nieces Kate, Lily and Vera; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and an amazing group of friends. She is preceded in death by two grandmothers, a grandfather, and her four-legged companion Dokken.
Diana dedicated her life to healing children. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the World Wide Hispanic Outreach, Inc. (WWHO). Contributions should be made to WWHO with a memo note reflecting "in honor of Diana Paul", and can be sent to Kingsway Christian Church at 7981 E. County Road 100 North, Avon, IN, 46123.
Memorial visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. August 8 at Kingsway Christian Church, with memorial service at 3pm. Fellowship will continue in the church parking lot immediately after the memorial service.
