Donald A. Jones
82, of Brownsburg, passed away on April 28th, 2026. Donald was born in Winslow, IN to his parents Elwood Jones and Mildred (Brust) Jones-Coker on May 6th, 1943. At the young age of 19, Donald began working diligently at Allison’s (later Detroit Diesel), holding positions as an electrician and eventually, a trusted supervisor.
Donald was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge and attended Connection Pointe Christian Church along with his wife, Tanya. In his early days, Donald enjoyed fishing with his loved ones and was known to be a talented photographer. He was also an avid sports fan, cheering for the Purdue Boilermakers and the Indiana Pacers. He was also a proud racing fan, who passed on his love for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway down 3 generations, particular the pursuit of ‘Time Trials’ and a “New Track Record!"
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; step father Frank Coker; as well as his sister Marilyn “Sue” Tomlin and half-sister Linda Pettyjohn. He is survived by his beloved wife Tanya Jones; children Donald “Allen” Jones II and Trisha Trusty; grandchildren Nicholas Ross, Cameron (Lacey) Trusty, Ashtyn (Joshua Benson) Jones, and Morgan Trusty; great-grandchildren Liam Trusty and Amirah Benson. He is also survived by niece Glenda Olson; nephews Larry (Rose) Spradlin and John (Jeanna) Spradlin.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6th from 12 noon to 2 pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 2 pm. Donald will then be laid to rest in Brownsburg Cemetery.
