Donald G. Scott

83, Brownsburg, passed away on May 25, 2021.  He was born on April 27, 1938 and grew up in Danville, IN.  He graduated from Danville High School and Rose Hulman with a degree in civil engineering.  In 1993, he retired from the State of Indiana Highway Department.  Don married the love of his life Jean in 1958.  They settled in Brownsburg where they lived for over 50 years.  Don was a Christian man and belonged to the Connection Pointe Christian Church where he served in various roles over the years.  He was known as the "Tomato Man" to his neighbors and friends.  He grew the most beautiful tomatoes.  He had an infectious smile and never knew a stranger.  His favorite pastimes were IU sports, fishing with his son and being with his family and friends.  He is survived by his wife Deloris Jean Nichols Scott; daughter Tammy Scott Spelbring; son Evan and his wife Julia Scott; two grandsons Brandon Spelbring and Corey Scott; brother-in-law Ross Nichols and his wife Sharon.  Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm Fri. May 28 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Brownsburg Cemetery.  Due to current health concerns, masks and social distancing are recommended.
