Obituary

Donald R. Seib, 83, Pittsboro, passed away on Dec. 6, 2017. He was born on March 2, 1934 in Evansville, IN. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian (Cheaney) Seib. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Davis. His children are Donald R. Seib Jr, (Kristen), Diana McKenzie (Paul), Daniel Seib, (Cindy), and son-in-law, Steven Davis. He had six grandchildren, Melissa Seib, Donald R. Seib III, Paul Aaron and Evan McKenzie, and Rebecca and Jakob Seib. He graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, IN. He was a veteran of the US AIR FORCE, and served in the Korean War. In Korea, he served with the 4th Fighter Interceptor Wing and is a member of that association. He retired from the Federal Aviation Agency as an air route traffic controller. Post retirement, he worked for Loomis Armored Car and as a security officer at Hendricks Regional Health. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of Plainfield Elks 2186, and served as a trustee, and director of the Elks Dreamer Dance Band. He was a member of the Brownsburg American Legion, Korean War Veterans Chapter 259 and was a past commander. He was also a member of AACS, the national air traffic controllers association. He was a member of the Hendricks County Honor Guard most recently serving as a chaplain. He is a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sun. Dec. 10 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services at 10 am Mon. Dec. 11 at St. Malachy Church. Burial will be in St. Malachy Cemetery West.
