Obituary

Donna J. Stutler Klein, 74, Brownsburg passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 10, 2023 at IU Health West Hospital.  She was born in Milan, IN on March 25, 1949.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Bonnie (Martin) Stutler.  Donna was survived by her daughter, Sandra (Russell) Bastyr of North Myrtle Beach, SC.  Other family survivors include her three younger siblings: brother, Richard (Carolyn) Stutler of Madison, IN;  sister, Theresa Stutler of Brownsburg, IN; brother David (Georgette) Stutler of Buford, GA; three nephews: Mike (Amanda Henderson) Stutler of Brownsburg, IN; Jared (Ginger) Stutler of Alpharetta, GA; Kyle (Anna) Stutler of Chamblee, GA; one niece, Amy (Marc) Bassett of King George, VA; five great-nephews: Ryan Stutler of Speedway, IN; Logan Stutler of Alpharetta, GA; Brad Stutler of Alpharetta, GA; Andrew Bassett of King George, VA; Carson Stutler of Chamblee, GA.  Donna was a 1967 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School in Madison, IN She was a National Honor Society member, co-editor of the yearbook, editor of school newspaper, thespian club member and Girls State representative.  She also was a Rainbow Worthy Advisor.  Donna and her immediate family moved to Brownsburg in 1969.  She began working at the Indianapolis headquarters office for Meridian Mutual Insurance.  She attended classes at IUPUI. In 1976 she began working on the east side of Indianapolis for the United States Air Force as a recruiter's secretary.  A few years later she started a lengthy career with the Social Security Administration. She retired in August of 2000 as a Claims Representative at the Federal Building in Indianapolis.  After retiring she worked part time as a Verbatim Hearing Recorder for the Bureau of Hearings and Appeals for Social Security in downtown Indianapolis. She was a member of a very special Red Hats Society Chapter, Lunch Time Buddies aka "LTBs" and the "Social Security Retirees".  She enjoyed attending musicals, plays, and concerts.  She loved being around her family and friends who enriched her life in so many ways. Funeral services were provided on Monday, July 17, 2023 by Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, IN and entombment followed at Washington Park Cemetery North, Indianapolis, IN.
