Obituary

Dorothy "Dottie" J. Haggstrom, age 97, entered her heavenly home with Jesus October 10, 2020 at Brownsburg Healthcare Center.  She was born August 25, 1923 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and daughter to the late Otto and Emma Hack.  She was an active member for many years at Christ Lutheran Church in Brownsburg and was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran in Battle Creek, MI.  She was a huge University of Michigan fan.   Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, C. Ray Haggstrom, sister Delores Higgins, and brother Donald Hack.   She is survived by her daughter Teri (Rev. Dennis) Ouellette, son Timothy Haggstrom (Cynthia Rubenstein), grandchildren Sara (Curt) Clayton, Kate (Rev. Seth) Kaiser, and Emily (Nathan) Shelman, along with 8 great grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 14 at Matthews Mortuary.   The funeral service will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, October 15 at Christ Lutheran Church in Brownsburg.  Rev. Chris Truelson will officiate, and Rev. Dennis Ouellette will preach.  Burial will be in Battle Creek, Michigan.  In compliance with current guidelines and restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and observe social distancing.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf or LAMP Ministries, Inc.
