Douglas Allen Shannon, born 5/14/1964 to Dennis and Rita Shannon in Indianapolis, IN, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on 12/17/20, dying of natural causes. Doug is survived by his mom, Rita Brown, Stepdad, Larry Brown of Brownsburg, IN, wife, Deann of Clay City, son Joey (Brandy) of Cloverdale, IN, son Dustin (Tiffany) of Cloverdale, IN, and daughter Danielle Schlak (Josh) of Brazil, IN, his 8 grandchildren, the light and love of his life. Jesse(15), Christian (14), Ethan (12), Eva (11), Aybrielle (6), Cora (4), Aarilyn (4), Violette(2 mos.), sister Denise McCleese (Kevin) of Brownsburg, IN and nieces and nephew, Skyla (26) of Pierceton, Devin(19) and Kiley(6) both of Brownsburg, IN. Doug was member of Clay City Assembly of God Church and attended Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg. Doug was also a member of the Indy West Great Banquet Community. Doug was in the United State Marine Corps. Doug's love for his family and his faith in Jesus will be the legacy and memory that is carried on. Doug's deep love for his grandchildren and his niece and nephew were to be admired, they could do no wrong in his sight. In addition to love for his family, Doug was an avid lover of dogs, his most recent companion being his best friend Honey. Doug lost his physical battle in this world but he has won the eternal battle where he is no longer suffering and there is no more pain. Funeral services will be held at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, IN on December 28 th at 2pm with a private family viewing at 1pm. In compliance with current regulations and restrictions, guests must wear masks and observe social distancing, and, upon, entering the funeral home chapel immediately be seated.
