E. Lee Duncan 87, went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2013 at Ridgewood Hospice Care surrounded by his loving family and Pastor Jeff. Born on October 25, 1925 in Morgan County, IN, to parents Silas and Daisy (nee Downey) Duncan, he later moved to a farm near Mooresville, IN. He graduated from Mooresville High School and attended Purdue University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a WWII Army Veteran. On January 19, 1951, he married his Valentine Sweetheart, Jean. They moved to Akron, Ohio where he went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He retired after 40 years of service having designed the largest earthmover tire in the world at that time. Lee had many hobbies. He enjoyed gardening and flowers, going to auctions and restoring old furniture, woodworking, jewelry making, square and round dancing and bird watching. He and Jean were members of the Wilderness Center near Wilmot, Ohio and enjoyed many birding trips in the US, Canada and Costa Rica. He sang in choir and men's chorus at Lockwood United Methodist Church for many years. He was a member of Lakemore United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Duncan and Maxine Holloway; nephews, Mark and Max Holloway. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean; son, Kerry (Tammi); grandchildren, Mike and Tara (fiance, Matt Blake) Miller; great grandson, Wesley; nephew, Joe Holloway; niece, Faith (Bruce); great niece, Rachel; and great nephew, Matthew McClain. Graveside services will be 1pm Fri. Jan. 11 at Lizton K of P Cemetery.
