Eilise M. Wilkening
Born Oct. 2, 2001, lost her short battle with cancer on Jan. 29. 2015 at 4:19pm. Throughout her life she was a constant example of Christ's love to everyone she met. Through all the pain she experienced she never complained but would only ask how everyone else was handling the news. The start and end to every day was a quote from her favorite movie "God's Not Dead", where she would have Mom and Dad join her in saying "God is good all the time, and all the time God is good". Her life is best summed up in what one of her friends at school wrote after hearing she passed away: "I prayed for Eilise and her family today when I got home. She was a very special girl that had a kind heart and cared for others and not for herself. At first I was upset and in tears but then realized that God has a plan for all of us and that she is in a better place. Tomorrow I will try to step up and be a good leader. She wasn't a normal girl, she was a kind hearted, caring, funny, loving, kind girl, and she didn't care what others thought of her and she was so sweet and I hope people noticed". Eilise is survived by her parents Sean and Gretchen Wilkening; brother Sean Michael Wilkening; grandparents Sharon and Michael Wilkening and Barbara and Charles Sperbeck; great grandfather Paul Kersey. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Tues. Feb. 3 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Fayette, with funeral services there at 10am Wed. Feb. 4.
