Elladean Cross Waggoner
On April 24, 2018 Elladean Cross Waggoner went to be with her Lord and Savior. Elladean was born to Etheridge and Vastie Cross on June 9, 1929. She was preceded in death by sister Beatrice Lawrence brothers Dumas Cross, Don Cross and Paul Cross. She is survived by her beloved brother and sister in law Denny and Pat Cross, and sister in law Betty Cross. "Dean" as most people knew her, met the love of her life, Jack, while working at RCA. Their loving relationship was a great example for many people. In 1962, they built their home in Lizton, where they raised their 3 daughters, Linda, Sharon, and Julie. Dean and Jack were married for almost 54 years, until his death in 2004. Dean also worked at Holiday Inn Northwest, Indianapolis Country Club and Ensley's Golf Course. She was a member of Kingsway Christian Church. Family and friends especially enjoyed what an amazing cook Dean was, particularly appreciating the delicious cakes and desserts! Dean also loved crocheting and making various items for family and friends. Dean had an amazingly quick wit and she will be missed for the clever comments she would come up with on a daily basis. She loved beating her family every chance she got in playing cards, especially Skip Bo. She also loved trouncing any of the family members who were brave enough to take her on in Shuffle Board when in Florida. Family vacations to Dean were very important, especially the ones in Sarasota with the entire family. Dean was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, Linda (John) Woodburn, Sharon Adams, Julie (Leonard) Watson Jr. , Grandchildren - Jason Woodburn, Jamie (Matthew) Simpson, Bob (Jessica) Adams, Michael (Natalie) Adams, Jenny (Ricky) Taylor II, Travis Watson Lukas Watson, and Matt Adams, Shelby (Cory) Goss; 10 Great Grandchildren, #4 "Daughter" Barbara Smith, Nieces, Nephews, and friends. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Nurse Aides, Nurses and all the staff at Brooke Knoll Village who knew and loved our Mom. Your love and care brightened her life each and every day she was with you. Visitation will be at Matthews Mortuary, 690 E. 56th St., Brownsburg, IN on Saturday, April 28 from 10 am - 12 pm, with funeral service following. Burial will follow at the Lizton K of P Cemetery in Lizton, IN.
