Ellavon Dale Storms
Life has come full circle for our beautiful Mother, Ellavon (Dale) Storms on March 1, 2022; she was born at home in Pittsboro, Indiana on June 21, 1926 and grew up in Hendricks County, Indiana. Mother was met at heaven's gate by the Lord, our Dad, our Sisters, Judy Donovan, Jan Gustavson, their husbands, Terry and Steve her parents, Orange and Alcie Dale, sister, Marnell Burnell Shepherd, brother-in-law, Tony Burnell, brother, Landis "Kink" Dale, Sister-in-Law, Peggy Ward Dale and many other family members and friends who have gone before her.
In the spring of 1943, in the small town of Greenfield, she married the love of her life, Charles Robert Storms; they were married 63 years until his passing in 2006. Together they created a wonderful family of four girls and one boy; and she is survived Pamelia Storms-Barrett, Patricia Evanoff, and Robert (LuAnne) Storms. Mother is also survived by her only nephew, Rex Burnell; nieces, Landa (Trippe) Matthews, Kendra (Chris) O'Leary, Patia (Dave) Olson, Dede Dale-Box, Kathryn Vaughn, former sons-in-law, George Evanoff and Jack (Janice) Barrett; as well as the families of her late sister and brother. Mother cherished each of them.
Mother's family was her pride and joy. Trips to Kings Island, the Dells, Raccoon Lake, Florida, and camping trips with her family were always fun times for her. She loved all things Christmas and the 4th of July. Going all out with Christmas decorations, inside and outside, including Nativity displays, multiple Christmas Trees, snowmen, wreaths, reindeer and Santas, Christmas Eve with Shrimp and food from Shapiro's Deli, and, of course, perfectly wrapped presents. On the Fourth of July there was Red, White and Blue everywhere, with her energetic grandchildren playing in the pool or at the lake house, and of course, it wouldn't be the 4th without a cookout of brats from Klemm's.
Aside from being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she was active in JAYNECEES, and Delta Sigma Philanthropic Sorority. In her youth she loved riding horses where she met, Stormy, her favorite "big city cowboy". She loved her horses even more, after meeting him.
Mother was the Grandmother/Grandma/Nana to 12 Grandchildren "J.R." Barrett, Sharon (Stuart) Odle, Anthony (Shelley) Barrett, Susan Donovan, Shannon (Chris) Staples, Sally (Dennis) Lehane, Sabra (Brian Ayres) Evanoff, Shawn (Heather McGuffey) Donovan, Stacy (Brandon) Wessel, Kristy (Mario) Brown, Patia (George) Green, and Holly (Michael) Timko. She was the great grandmother to 15 great grandchildren, David, Sabra, Thomas and Xander Barrett, Holden, Samuel, Jackson and Carol Staples, Matthew and Nicholas Odle, Kelly Lehane, Maxwell Brown, John Joseph (JJ) Timko, Henry Green, and Liam Donovan.
Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Tuesday March 8 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services at 1pm. Burial will follow in Brownsburg Cemetery.
