Beloved sister of Billie Adkins went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Monday November 20, 2023.  The Heavenly Host of Angels came to take her to her Eternal Home in Heaven.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leslie, of 40 plus years, her parents Mary Margaret (Peg) Russell, William Ross Myers, stepfather Thomas Russell, her paternal grandparents William D. Myers, Genevieve B. Myers, her maternal grandparents George Washington Eckman, Elzina S. Eckman, her aunts Marjie Fiscus, Carrie Millinger, Lydia Ruth Eckman, Lois Myers, her uncles Bob Myers, David, Elmer, George Willard, Ira (Arlo) Eckman.

Survivors include her sister Billie (Don) Adkins, nephew Michael (Jennifer) Adkins, brother-in-law Bob Durrell, and the Durrell and Dyer families in Maine.

Donna and our family lived in Pennsylvania.  We moved to Connecticut when our Dad accepted the job at Avco Lycoming Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut.  Leslie lived in Maine.  He attended schools in Stratton, Maine before joining the U.S. Army and serving in the Philippines during WWII, as a mail carrier.  When he returned home from the service, he moved to Connecticut.

Leslie and Donna both accepted jobs at Avco Lycoming Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut.  They met at their jobs and married.  During the winter months, they made many trips to Maine to snowmobile, ice fish and hunt with family and friends.  They loved these activities so much, they bought matching snowmobiles.  Donna loved cats and dogs.  She collected pictures, books and anything about them.  She made clothes for dolls with her talent to crochet.  When I was teaching, she loved helping me decorate my classroom.  Donna also loved helping me fill Operation Christmas Child boxes.  OCC is just one of the ministries of Samaritan's Purse.  OCC boxes can be done all year.  They can be done online.  If you are interested in doing a box in Donna's memory, contact Heidi Hackney at Hope Community Church, Brownsburg, IN.

Donna and Leslie were faithful members of Stratford Baptist Church, Stratford, Connecticut.  Donna's pictures, books, dolls she dressed with her crochet talent, OCC information, pictures of her life will be displayed at the funeral. Funeral will be at 12pm Friday December 1 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with viewing from 10am to 12pm.  Prayers for our family during this difficult time are appreciated.  Burial will follow at the Bethesda Cemetery, Brownsburg,
