Ernest E. Tunny

79, of Danville, passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2026. Ernest was born in Batesville, Indiana to his parents Thomas Tunny and Mary Tunny (Herbert) on October 7th, 1946. Following high school graduation, he went on to proudly serve in the United States Army for multiple years. Ernest then led a lengthy, respected career in construction as a brick mason. He was also a longtime member of the Brownsburg American Legion Post 331.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kathleen Tunny; brother Michael Tunny; step-father Paul Herbert. He is survived by his four beloved children: Andrea (Jon) Duke, Ernie (Carla) Alexander, Joe Tunny, and James (Jennifer) Barnette; sister Karen (Jim) Dramann; brothers Tommy (Lori) Tunny and Mark (Brenda); 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th from 11 am to 1 pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. Ernest will then be laid to rest in St. Malachy Cemetery, Brownsburg.
