Florence M. Collins

79, of Avon, passed away on May 4th, 2026. Florence was born in Indianapolis to her parents James and Lissie English on June 2nd, 1946. After graduating from Arsenal Tech High School, she went on to lead a nearly 40 year career at Sears where she held many different positions. In her early years, Florence spent her free time as an avid cake baker. She also loved to attend stock car racing and car shows with her friends and family. Florence was also known by her family as a fierce competitor in the game of Uno, which was not necessarily reflected by her amount of wins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 53 years Charles Collins, whom she married on August 14th, 1965; sister Janice Smith. Florence is survived by her children Ed (Stephanie) Collins and Rich (Tina) Collins; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7th from 11 am to 1 pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. Florence will then be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery, Avon.
