Forest Eugene "Gene" Kientz
83, Brownsburg, passed away on July 16, 2025. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on November 19, 1941 and moved to Brownsburg, IN in 1953. He graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1959 and started working at Morris Plan. He hired on at Linde Flame plating and began attending Purdue University Indianapolis, receiving a BS in Industrial Technology. In 1963, Gene went on to work at Allisons Division of GM. (later Rolls Royce), in the Materials Research Lab developing Materials for Gas Turbine Engine components. He also worked as an Electron Microscopist and did analyses for the Failure Analysis Group. After 36 years his retirement began. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Judy. They enjoyed many years of happiness. They traveled the states visiting friends and families. He enjoyed gardening, the Covered Bridge Festival, and Couples Euchre Club. Gene was an avid fan of Purdue sports, the Colts, NFL, Indians, and anything golf. He scored his first hole in one while playing golf with his buddies. His ultimate true love was IndyCar. It began when he visited the IMS Speedway as a child. He attended 60+ races. He always enjoyed Iarias, pizzas, spaghetti, gyros and a good steak. Gene was beloved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his smile, infectious laugh, wit, and sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Dalton; step mother Lois; mother Irene Jones (Kocher); step father Stanley Jones; step brother Scott Jones and half-sister Janet Kientz. Survivors include his wife, Judith Kientz; son Tom Kientz; brother Harry (Judy) Kientz, half-sister Lucie Moon (Kientz), and many, wonderful nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him. Services will be held at a later date.
