Freeman W. Smith

We are sad to announce the passing of Freeman W Smith at the Brownsburg Meadows Senior Care facility, Brownsburg, Indiana.  He had previously been a resident of Glenwood, Indiana for over 70 years. He passed away at the age of 95 on January 29, 2024.

Freeman was born July 1, 1928 and grew up in Coalmont, Indiana the son of William and Florence Smith.  He graduated from Coalmont High School and worked over 35 years and retired from Philco/Ford in Connersville, Indiana.  Freeman enjoyed fishing, hunting, winemaking, card playing, and spending time with his grandsons.  He was very active in the Orange, Indiana Freemasons and reached the rank of Master Mason. He was a member of the Orange Community Church of the Cross.

Freeman is survived by his wife of 74 years, Lois (Crist) Smith, son Gary and wife Dawn Smith, daughter Linda and husband George Livergood.  Grandsons, Aaron and wife Sarah Smith, John, Jason and wife Megan and Joel Livergood.  Freeman was the proud great-grandfather of (6): Ellis and Wynnie Smith, Ryan, Knox, George and Liam Livergood.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dortha Staggs.

A graveside memorial service will be held September 7, 2024 for family and friends at K of P Case Cemetery in Hymera, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Orange Community Church of the Cross, Box 73, Glenwood, Indiana.
