Gary A. Pace
59, of Bay City, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018. His viewing will be Thursday, September 20th, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, with a parish Rosary to be prayed at the conclusion of the viewing. Funeral Service will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Brownsburg, on Friday, September 21st, 2018 at 10 am.
Gary Alan Pace was born on April 25, 1959 in Moline, IL, the son of Charles Otto Pace and Anna Mae Pace. Gary attended Rock Island High School and graduated in 1977. In 1981 he married Diane Lindell, of Geneseo, IL. In 1985 Gary began his 33 year career with General Motors in Pontiac, MI. Gary moved his family to Brownsburg in 1990 where they raised 3 children. Gary spent most of his career as an electrician on 3rd shift at the Indianapolis GM plant. In 2011 he became an Electrical Engineer. Gary and Diane belonged to St. Malachy Catholic Church where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 2013, where he spent the last 5 years of his life living on the water; enjoying fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Gary had a life-long love of racing, including racing stock cars in his younger days. Gary was always busy with many projects around the house, with his last being a bat box installed at his Brownsburg home.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Pace, 2 daughters Kristin (Peter) Settle, Brownsburg; Nicole (Dan) Bernhardt, Indianapolis; his son, Kyle Pace (Fiancé Caitlin Cima), Chicago IL; two grandchildren; 3 brothers Larry (Gale) Pace, Norman, OK; Dale (Sheila) Pace, Moore, OK; and Don (Linda) Pace, Moore, OK; and his mother, Anna Pace of Moore, OK. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Pace, and father, Charles O. Pace.
